Mt. Baker – training update

I’m getting ready for Mount Baker. How do you get ready for Mount Baker? What kind of shape do you need to be in to be able to summit? I’ve started running 5k three times a week. By the end of April I need to be able to run a 10k two times in the week.

Then in May I’ll start to do some hiking. In June hike/run the Garibaldi trail from Whistler to Garibaldi Lake – that is about 26k. Will also start carrying a backpack, with some weights in June. Then we’ll do the Diez Vistas trail from Port Moody in July with a full backpack. That should do it for the cardio. But have to figure out some training for the upper-body part as well…
